| Suboxone short term success Quote:
I've started suboxone almost a month ago at 12mg. I am now at 1mg and will be off in about 1 week. I found in numerous sub forums that going from 1mg to nil is the toughest. so far I've had brief moments of fluttering heart, anxiety, depression etc.. but they are 75% easier to handle than cold turkey in my opinion. I've been hooked on fentanyl, vicodin, and snorting oxy round the clock for about a year until I told my dr last month i was hooked and needed help. It started with a spine surgery gone horribly wrong last Decembr for a severely herniated disk. I have pain and permanent damage. He has advised against my short term sub plan but will support me. I know for some long term sub therapy is right but from the beginning I wanted to be off sub in one month. Im also in outpatient prgm and attending NA twice weekly and they both gave me the strength to overcome my sub withdrawals. I tried cold turkey several times but on the 3rd day ended up in the emergency room with breathing problems and panic attack from back pain and withdrawals. If you're starting suboxone I hope this would give you all options you can talk about your dr. with. I know it's working for me

![]() SR has a chat fuction (which seems to disagree with my computer and so I haven't been able to use it). I only use the forums. But, if you want real-time chat, you can follow the chat option at the top of the screen and see if it works for you. Otherwise, you can post a question or your thoughts, etc. and others will be around to reply. The Substance Abuse forum gets much more activity, just an FYI.
