| Wish me luck!
Ive been on Suboxone for the last two years and have decided to taper myself off. Ive been prescribed 5 8mg pills aday for the last year. Mainly because of chronic pain issue's. Ive had 18 hospital stays and over 50 surgeries done on me in the last 5 years due to a motorcycle accident. Prior to my wreck i had been opiate free for 3 years. Relapse when was giving so much due to operations. (which was no damn excuse). Bottom line is that right now im taking 16Mg's a day. I have 70 8mg tablets that im gonna taper with. I want have to use all of them. I play one going down to 8 pretty quick. Ive done that quite a few times. So ill get down to 8 then go down 1 mg every 3-4 days, then skipping days and just trying everything to lessen the withdrawal. So ill be needing some of you people o help talk me thru it. So say a prayer for me.thanks

Take your time with it is my advice. Tapering sub is really quite possible without much withdrawal if you go slowly. And lessening the withdrawal will lessen your cravings to relapse. Whatever way you go, I'll be here, cheering for you and ready to listen. Have you given NA or AA meetings a try yet? Might be a good time to check 'em out! ![]() Love, KJ |

| Thanks kj
Ive got AA And A friends. Ive been in recovery now for over 10 yrs. I had a few slip ups but suboxone worked great for me. But like i said its been 2 years and im ready. And i dont want a damn thing to do with and opiate! I know it takes work also, but i remember the misery that i use to go thru. Its hell on earth. I dont want it. Plus im getting up tier in age (45) and you just don't find to many old drug addicts. So i know i need from alot of places. You included. Feel free to go me any suggestions that could help. Thank you

My main suggestion, as I said before, is to take your time. Be careful not to set yourself up for a failure. You haven't "failed" if it takes you a bit longer than you planned. Or if you need a sub refill or two while tapering. Go down a bit, see how you feel, wait a few days to stabilize before you try going down a bit more. I personally never went down faster than 2 mgs a week, and there were times when it felt too fast and I went back up 2 mgs for a few weeks to get stable. Easy does it, this is not a race! Love, KJ |
