Hello to who ever is listening,

I have been an opiate addict for around 10 years and have been taking some form everyday and I finally got sick and tired of feeling this way. How many times has anyone felt like that???

I would imagine all the time, I did! I finally decided that it was the time to quit. Boy, was i scared as hell though. I have detoxed several times but never has it ever really been for ME or my choice. Well this time it is!!!!!!

It has been several days now since I quit taking any kind of opiate! Actually just been on subs the last year and a half but I feel great!!!!!

Now dont get me wrong. No one gets out scott free. I was very sick for the first few days but if you push through you can definately make it!!! Just keep pushing. If I can do it anyone can. Im so tired of this cycle and hope to never return to that EVER AGAIN!!!!!! I know Im the only one who has control over the situation. Just remember that you can do it just hang in there.

I never remember ever when I was a little kid saying "Hey I want to be a drug addict". Well.....it happened but the best thing you can do is move on and learn from your experiences. I would never wish this upon anyone and if you do choose to take a chance and do what I did then just remember your in for a super bumpy ride. Not to mention you will lose everything you ever worked for and your family. So if you ever hurt yourself or decide to take pills for a recreational purpose then do your research and learn about the addictions of certain drugs and read about others experiences. Yeah, I know that there are a handfull of people out there that can do what we did and they wont skip a beat or let it affect every aspect of their life, but not ME! Once an addict always an addict.

Finally I just want to say THANK YOU to all who post things and share their experiences here because if it was not for you guys I would still continue to be the person I once was. Remember you too can live without whatever crutch you have, you just have to make the decision to change. Its not easy but you can do it!!!!!!!!!!

Remember.....Today will be yesterday, tommorow will be today so what have you done with your life? Stop putting things off and just do it!!!

Just curious, how long have you been off the sub's?
