Good

I am glad that you see that staying on Sub for a long time is not a good idea, get off of it as soon as you can. Is your Dr. helpful with this taper, I ask because I know that many are not. But way to go, you sound like you have a good head on your shoulders. I have been on sub for just over 2 years, and I cannot get off of it, the w/d's are awful. I wish I had found out all of this 2years ago.

Tony, Tony, my long-lost friend....

So sorry! I don't visit this sub-forum often. Actually, I haven't been posting very much at all because I've been so preoccupied with my own Sub taper plan. It's making me sooooo exhausted that I have trouble on the computer. I never nodded this much, even the few times that I intentionally got high on oxys. So, my posts have been very limited. But, today, I thought... OMG! I haven't seen Tony's thread in a while. So, here I am visiting. But, I see that you haven't updated this in more than a week. So, I'm going to go "MrPhreez thread hunting" and see if you have another one out there with more recent posts.

I hope that you are doing well!

So... I'm off! (I feel a little like I'm playing hide 'n seek)

Yep. On and off, Tony! I'll try to remember to check in periodically. But, I need to be honest. I'm having a little trouble keeping up with myself. So, if I go MIA, just give me a personal nudge. OK?

Cool June 4th thursday 2009

June 4th thursday 2009
Hello Everyone!

As Some Of You Know Ive been on Suboxone Since March 23rd 2009!
Over 2 Months! It is my belief that this chemical has helped me
to save my own life! A miracle it’s not, but rather an ingenious
pharmaceutical breakthrough for opiate dependence Its A Great
Tool For recovery... While I believe that Suboxone is long overdue
in the world of recovery

I must pay my respects to my prescribing
Dr.for simply recognizing My need for This program! And working
with me on a "one on one basis" To a degree I Think Suboxone
curb's cravings!

However I feel that a positive support group is a
vital tool in staying clean! (NA/AA) Suboxone in itself Is not enough!
Suboxone saved my life, however I was at that “crossroads”I Was
So Ready To Get Clean!I Hit My Bottom! I Just Needed That Extra
Boost! I found That in the Suboxone program!

What If A Suboxone Patient Gets In a Car accident and requires a Opiate?
Then what? The Naloxone as well as the mechanism of Buprenorphine itself will inhibit the action
of any medically administered opiate. What am I to do in these instances? Is their a system
in place for this set of circumstances? Even if there is/was a system in place it would be completely
useless if all the E.R. doctors don’t either know about it or choose not to institute it. While I believe
that Suboxone is long overdue in the world of recovery, I also believe that a little more thought has
to be given to emergency situations that are unfortunately inevitable

MrPhReeZ

Yeah its bad news and you should wear a bracelet or carry the card they give you in your wallet. You don't want to wake up in the middle or surgery with the Dr. reattaching your leg and feeling every minute of it. Sub is pretty common now it seems, but the Dr.s have to know somehow that you are on it. Although the sub will block the pain killers to a degree the nax won't do anything because it doesnt get into your system unless you shoot it. The other danger is od because of adding more opiates and sub is resistant to the **** they use to throw you into detox by knocking all the good stuff off the receptors. It is a dangerous situation but opiates are not the only pain killers just the most effective and fun. Bad joke okay. Not a Dr just stuff Ive heard
