ok here we go i am 43 yrs old been drinking & drugin for most of my life
i have been through the legal system many times .
only 2 for DUI that was 8 yrs ago .
i didnt have a normal childhood , dropped off at a foster home at 6yrs old by my mother . picked up at 11 by my Father whom was a heavy drinker & a drug user . That's basicly when i started my path of destruction !!
by the age of 15 my father could'nt handle me after taking his beatings & mental abuse for 4 yrs !! He realized it wasn't getting him any where with me so he decided to drop me off on my mothers door step !!!
BY that time i was a full blown user of all that i could get high off of !!
that lasted all of 1 yr , she kicked me out on the street !!
She called it tough love !!!!
i don't speak to either of them now & probley never will !!
life for me didnt get much better after that . i drank & used alot of the time
i got in trouble with the law when i was 21 all for some drugs !!
i went to jail & was released on my own without bail !!
well i bolted to TX.
i met my wife there (22yrs married)
i owe her my life !!!,, she was not a user of anything . she helped me to turn my life around !!
i quit the drugs all together . But i still drank as much as i could , she didnt approve of it at all but she put up with it .well we moved from TX in 96 to be with , believe it or not MY MOTHER , she wanted to be near her grandchildren , got there & she didnt want anything to do with them so we moved to michigan !!!,:wtf2,anyways i got my first DUI in 1999 i got 1 yr probation & fines , ordered by the court to attend 1 aa meeting a week i had to attend the same meeting for the whole yr , because where we lived was out in the country , the closest meeting was 20 mile away from my house & it was the only 1 around . i did'nt take it seriously because i wasn't ready to quit !!! well 3 months after i was off probation i got my 2nd DUI & Mchigan is 1 of the toughest states on drunk driving & my luck being as sh.tty as it allways has been the laws changed the verry month i got stopped ! They got harder on the offender so this being my 2nd in less than 7 yrs well they through the book at me !! i still dont have my DL to this day !!! even though i have been sober for 6yrs & 9 months !!!
well i hit bottom in 2002 when i fell asleep at the wheel and wrecked my wifes new car , thank god i didnt kill anyone or myself !!!!
i woke up at the stop sign doin 60 miles an hr !
where we lived at the time there arent any street lights & most all the roads have deep ditches on each side . where i was at the time was at a T the road ended at the HWY all i can remember is standing on the brakes & then complete silence because i was airborne i remember the air bags going off in my face !! They saved my life for sure !!! when i stoped i went to get out of the car but couldnt open the door because i was in between 2 trees that were about 7 feet apart just enough for the car to fit !! the road was about 60 feet above my head & i was 100 ft in the woods !!! i looked up to the sky & thanked the lord & promised myself & him that i would never touch another drink !! i went to rehab 1 week later & soaked up as much as i could & as god is my wittness I HAVE NOT DRANK A DROP scence that nite !!
MY life has changed for the better in alot of ways , BUT there is something missing what it is i dont really know . BUT i was searching the net the other day for some advice on selling my house & i saw this site & i clicked on it & all i can say is thank you for this site because i think mabey i have found what i am looking for !! i have not attended a AA meeting for atleast 6 yrs because i work my own program .
