Working with Step Two

I am working the steps slowly myself.....sponsorless....because there are no sponsors available in our small Naranon Family Group. I am hopeful that the good people here on SR can provide some insight and guidance as well.

Higher Power. I believe in a higher power.......I'm working on the "restore me to sanity" part.

I did have an interesting thing happen a few nights ago. I woke up in the middle of the night in the midst of an anxiety attack--sweating, heart pounding, panting......basically scared to death.

I spoke out loud and said "GOD where is MY SON!"

And the answer came quickly in my head (no booming voice) and it said "He is in my hands."

And I was immediately calmed and I was able to go right back to sleep.

I will spend the entire month of October pondering and reflecting on my Higher Power and try to absorb and personalize the fact that my Higher Power can restore me to sanity.

In this life, we are all in the pursuit of something.......I am pursuing serenity.

A worthwhile pursuit , Indeed. JUst a suggestion..have you tried an alanon mtg? Tend to be bigger (more available sponsors).

Thanks for this. reminds me that the addicts in my life and loved ones also have a Higher Power of their own understanding and that I am not that Higher Power, whether or not I may be used is not up to me.
