| Alternate programs of recovery?
Hi, are there any alternate programs to alcohol recovery? I am atheist, and most of the steps involve the belief in God. So, steps 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 11, really do nothing to help or encourage me as they conflict with my personal beliefs. Something tells me that in this day and age there has to be an alternitive program. Thanks to anyone who can help P.S. this is my first post. I plan on posting an introduction thread in another section within the next few days. I believe myself to be an alcoholic and have questioned alot lately as to whether my life would be better without alcohol in it. Looking forward to meeting you all. -OCDguy |

Hi there. Welcome to a fellow upstater. I'm an agnostic who just bit the bullet and did A.A., so I can't speak to other programs. I can say that A.A. worked for me, however. Good luck with your quest. M
