| after the 5th step
I did my 5th step on Saturday. I was nervous and scared before I did it. After I did it I felt good for the rest of the day and most of Sunday but late yesterday evening I had this intense saddness come over me. Has this happened to anybody else after doing this step?

Yes, I think that is why the Big Book suggests we immediately work Steps 6 and start on 7. It does help.

I believe nandm is correct. It is usually done in the same sitting. I can see it happening though. You've had time to reflect upon it and you're sifting through the ashes of what once was your life. You're probably feeling a little bit humbled too. This is where we remember Step 3. You made a decision to turn your will and your life over to the care of God as you understand Him. You've handed God the reigns and now he's driving. You're in good hands. Smile and move forward.
