What have we learned

I have done my 4th step and im curious what others have found out in theres, one of the main things i discovered is that i had become whatever i thoght the other person wanted me to be, in order to get what i thought was needed,, financial security, love, acceptance, things i thoght i was incabable of getting on my own, then finding i resented others when they didnt give me what i wanted or it turned out bad,, not excepting personal responsibility,, this shows selfishness to extremes,, and of course what better excuse to stay drunk.

now this is just an exzample of some findings, and in my amends i have found that my freindships were based in part on lies, and for that i owe amends, all my little secrets are out, and i have a freedome about myself that is different then before. step5

i have seen alot and am aware of myself more, and find that thinking of others without any returns is still difficult,,but getting better. the thing that baffles me is that i seem to still have the defects i have dug up to an extent, and althogh letting god have them is my wish, some remain, so this at times makes me feel like im missing something in the 4th step,

So my question is what is your experiance and some things you have found in yours,sober and living life,
