Post Moving on...

I just can't cause a problem for myself on Step Two: Came to believe that a Power greater than myself could restore me to sanity.

I came to believe that a long time ago--probably, that is what has kept me alive to this point. I don't believe much in myself, but I do believe in the Power greater than myself.

I'll sleep on it tonight, and move on to Step Three.

Keep it simple my friend. Do I now believe, or am I even willing to believe, there is a power greater than myself?

The 4 requirements to commence (begin) spiritual growth:
Lay aside prejudice
Express even a willingness to believe in a Power greater than ourselves
Earnestly seek God
Ask yourself what spiritual terms mean to you

Well said Keith. I had to pray daily to set aside those things.."What I THINK I know"..

Step 2 is willingness to believe that the power to get me sober is available. NOT the belief itself.

Am I willing? What is the alternative?

That set aside prayer is particularly useful with these steps...because if I think I know what the power is, or how it will work, or what the result will be, I am denying the openess required for it to work.
