I new I had been powerless over alcohol for years. It all depended on stress levels in my life. If life was good I would have a few beers on the weekend, if there was a bunch of financial stress in my life then I was about to go on a bender. Sadly I recognized this and said the hell with it. I wish I had the courage to own up to this years ago. I am now the father of two beautiful children and have a great wife who I am sure is tired of me, too little, too late. I just hope I have a family when I get back from deployment. I see my problem now and I am hitting it head on, I see no other way how.

I now see alcoholism for what it really is. A struggle for my life. Sounds a bit dramatic but if I lose I lose my children, my wife and eventually I will die early from medical problems. So as any good warrior I am launching an all out assualt of this *******. I know once eliminated, my life and everyone around me will be that much better.
