Shelbi, I believe God hears every prayer and I believe that each one will be answered...perhaps not with the answer you want, but with an answer that will prove itself correct in time.

I get mad at God a lot, and frustrated too, sometimes I think He went on vacation and forgot to sign out. But I always find that He was there all along, and He was even there when I wasn't looking for Him, and He walks beside me every day.

My prayers go out for you too, Shebi, that God connects in some way that you "know". When that happens, you will understand what a spiritual experience is all about, I promise.

Hugs
Ann

In today's bible study, I was given an understanding of sorts.

You mix a cake mix... you are seeing the actions.
You frost a cake... you are seeing the actions.
You enjoy the cake... you are gathering the fruits of your efforts.

The part of making the cake that we know happens, take the longest, but we don't see the actions, only the finished product...
When the cake is cooking... things are happening that we don't see but we hold faith because we have seen it happen before.

Some times we are waiting on the Lord for the finished answer to our prayer that time can be looked at as the cooking time. We trust that things are happening, we just need wait till it is finished.

On a good note as well... Prayers don't burn but cakes do. prayers are always answered on time.

Talking to GOD gets easier the simpler I allow it to be. We are always looking for ways to make things more complicated than they need to be.
"when I look back at my path there are times when I see two sets of tracks and times when there are only one. Why do you leave me alone? You where not alone, that is when I was carrying you!"

Stop petitioning God to give you something. God already has. Accept it, it's already here for you. Think good thoughts and give it a little time. Appreciate anything that is good in your life. Any little thing. And be willing to accept the goodness. It will come.

When I started Al Anon I had distorted thinking about everything and that certainly included my concept of my Higher Power. It is a process, but as my perceptions are changing by going to meetings, working the 12 steps, talking with my sponsor, reading literature, doing service work, my Higher Power is slowly changing from a judging, unaccepting, semi-cold entity to someone who is really like a friend to me, who made me, understands me and accepts me. I am looking forward to the continual changes that will keep happening, the healthier that I get too.
