I am loosing it

I am so hard on myself and pray alot, ut these days I don't seem to beleive in my spiritual side. I got out of treatment 3 weeks ago and have no job, no plan really and really don't knoe what I want or even where I want to be..I am grateful for the EI coming in to pay my bills and even then, I have replaced my drug addiction with shopping..eewww!!! I want to be back in the treatment center but know that will not happen , so I am trying to keep the structure that I have been taught alive...am not really succeding..I sleep alot and do not smile very much..I need a sign, I will pray more and hope for the best!!
So, Spiritually I am lost and hope to find my way back to life...

Hey Julie
Perhaps you already are finding your way back to life, and all its ups and downs! It really is a rollercoater ride, in the begining especially, for me. I use AA as my means of recovery, it has helped a great deal.
Believe that I believe...g*d hears you.
Bless, Trish

Julie

Why not hook up with NA or AA groups in your area? that will put you in contact with others who need structure and support and help you put in time constructively. It may also help you get your spiritual connection back.

It sounds like you are struggling right now, and it would probably help to reach out to those who can help you best - other alcoholics and addicts who have been where you are.

My prayers go out for you.

Hugs
Ann

Pray for what you want most of all. Then, answer your own prayers. And, realize then, that all along you were what you were waiting for. Smile forward for what has yet to be achieved. Inspire not what you have learned, but what you are about to teach. Faith is not from without, it is from within. You are your own master. You are your own deciple. You are your own. You are ....

Become what you know you can be .... get up, go out, get it, go on, go forward, go ...

Become the answer to your prayers.

Thumbs up

Hey julie02,
Hang in there. You walked 17 miles into the woods, now you must walk 17 miles out.Keep praying, and trust me to this, as long as you are truly being honest with yourself and god, things will keep getting better. Do the natural, and God will do the supernatural. :

Thumbs up Higher education, you cant never be to smart!

Don't give up, new responsibilities in early recovery is the other part of growth, don't give up 5 minutes before the miracle.

You might want to look into more school. I do believe you qualify for grants and school loans since you are an addict. You are now a minority, when I was in early recovery they just cut me a check for 3k but now I think they pay for a big part of your tuition. Call your local school counselor, its there job to find you money for schooling.

Further education is always a good thing, since I am a high school drop out I cant seem to get enough education. I have an insatiable thirst for education. I always have some night class I am doing. Three occupational associated degree's later I am very marketable in the business world.

Next is my writing skills....absulutely horrible it is!

AA/NA is something you should be doing anyways I would hope.

Julie;
You've been given wonderful advice already.
So, just know that I'm praying for you.
Spiritually is indeed from within. You need just tap into it.
Have you thought about taking adult education at your church, synogogue or mosque? I find it very rewarding.

Shalom!

I think that just the simple fact that you are cognizant of what is going on in your head and in your heart is a sure sign you are not as bad off as you may think, Julie.
