| Thanksgiving Prayer
Happy Thanksgiving Canada A Prayer of Thanksgiving We thank thee for our daily bread, For faith by which the soul is fed, For burdens given us to bear, For help that lifts the heart's despair. We thank thee, Lord, for eyes to see, The truth that makes, and keeps us free: For faults -- and for the strength to mend them, For dreams -- and courage to defend them. We have so much to thank thee for, Dear Lord, we beg but one boon more: Peace in the hearts of all men living, Peace in the whole world on this Thanksgiving. Joseph Auslander

Prayer of Thanksgiving We gather today, Lord of abundant life, as grateful children. Delighted and humbled by our bounty, we celebrate gifts of food and shelter, of colors that dance at dawn and dusk; we relish the scent of cooking foods, of burning leaves and summer's wet grass, of snowflake, of animal fur. We marvel at the intricacy of spiders' webs and fish bones, newborn babies and lines etched on faces of grandparents come for a visit today. All gifts from Your hand. When our meal is completed, leftovers stashed, and naps taken, we will leave replete, energized, and eager to go generously into the world and share our good fortune. Rev. Lynn James Have a blessed Thanksgiving day, Ann... ![]() Shalom!

Thank you, Teach Here is another one that I like. In most Native American prayers of thanksgiving, they begin with the most basic elements and as the prayer progresses so does the level of spirit. Beginning with the earth, the water, plantlife and then to the universe and finally to the Great Spirit. I find great comfort and a spiritual grounding in the philosophy and traditions of the Native Americans. Thanksgiving Prayer We return thanks to our mother, the earth, which sustains us. We return thanks to the rivers and streams, which supply us with water. We return thanks to all herbs, which furnish medicines for the cure of our diseases. We return thanks to the moon and stars, which have given to us their light when the sun was gone. We return thanks to the sun, that has looked upon the earth with a beneficent eye. Lastly, we return thanks to the Great Spirit, in Whom is embodied all goodness, and Who directs all things for the good of Her children. Iroquois Prayer

| Boy's Town Blessing LORD, We humbly ask thy blessing on the turkey and the dressing, on the yams and cranberry jelly, and on the pickles from the deli. Bless the apple pie and tea, bless each and every calorie. Let us enjoy Thanksgiving dinner, tomorrow we can all get thinner. For all Thy help along the way, we're thankful this Thanksgiving Day. We're thankful, too, for all our dear ones, for all the far away and near ones. Although we may be far apart, we're together in my heart. Keep us in Thy loving care, this is my Thanksgiving prayer.
