For all the children, no matter how young or old, no matter if still suffering or long in recovery...this prayer is dedicated to you...

"Children Who Are Addicted

Most merciful God, accept our prayers on behalf of the children and teenagers of this world who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. Hear the cries of the parents who are afraid for their children. Awaken the hearts of the parents who are unconcerned for their offsprings’ welfare. Empower every community to act to prevent the spread of the use of chemical substances, that the children of this world may receive the inheritance you desire for them: life abundantly. Amen. "

Dear Lord, bless those who seek
solace in substances;
helplessly hurting their bodies,
trying to feed their souls.

Father, let them see You are the
food they crave.
Envelop them in the warm blanket
of Your eternal love.

God, please keep them safe from the
perils of their actions.
Protect those around them as well.

Give them the strength, O Lord, to see
that it is You they’ve been searching for.
For there is no void You cannot fill.
And You are always with them.

With You there is no fear, no pain,
no judgment -
And all their sins will be forgiven.

They need only look to Your hopeful
light within them all,
Instead of the demons that beckon.

We pray they know they are always
worthy of Your love,
And can forever bask in Your
Holy Grace. May peace be theirs.

Gonna print these prayers, take em home and share them with my wife. Our lives have in so many ways been affected by addictions! Only with my strong recovery can we begin to mend the twisted fate drug and alcohol abuse has thrown our way. I pray for Katie, Josh, Brandon, Bradley, Brianna, and Brittany (our kids). I pray that I can continue to take the first step in breaking a long lineage of alcohol and drug dependance and the crazy way it affects our lives. I pray to be the best example I can for the young people I can influence during my remaining time here on earth. I pray to show them that love of God is the best way for me.

May we discover through pain and torment,
the strength to live with grace and humor.
May we discover through doubt and anguish,
the strength to live with dignity and holiness.
May we discover through suffering and fear,
the strength to move toward healing.
May it come to pass that we be restored to health and to vigor.
May Life grant us wellness of body, spirit, and mind.
And if this cannot be so, may we find in this transformation and passage
moments of meaning, opportunities for love
and the deep and gracious calm that comes
when we allow ourselves to move on.

You are mighty, G*D, who brings healing to the sick,
You are great in granting salvation,
providing the living with sustenance, with lovingkindness,
caring for the sick with great mercies,
supporting the fallen, healing the sick,
releasing the captive,
and keeping faith with those who are lost among the living,
Who is like you, Creator of mighty acts, and who compares to you,
The Eternal One who restores health, and causes salvation to sprout,
You who are faithful, comforting the ill among us,

Maybe I should starting reading this forum more often. Today has been difficult for me with my son. He's hurting and I'm feeling his pain. But I received a moment of happiness reading the prayers that are being said for our kids.
