For me, spirituality is that invisible connection between my soul and all that is good. It's the good feeling that I get when I see the moon or the stars or walk the beach, or when I see a child playing or smell a garden.

For me, it's my connection to the universe and to God. It's the place where my candle of hope stays lit, right next to faith and trust.

Spirituality for me is a "knowing" that there is something much bigger than I running the universe with a good plan for each of us, and that gives me peace.

Hugs
Ann

Spirituality for me is a sense of well being. I believe it about who I am, when everything else has been stripped away. It speaks to me in the quiet..and it my guiding light. It is powerful. It moves life's force. It is my blanket of comfort woven with faith.

If doing the next right think connects you spiritually, then it is correct, Isabel

In a nutshell, spirituality is what gets me closer to finding an answer to the Cosmic Riddle we call god. But at the same time, it also ensures that I only get to see part of the answer, if any at all.
That way, I have a chance to be on the journey of discovery forever

To me Spirituality is life and without it I am dead.To me it is the image of God within us all. The more I can acknowledge my spirit the more alive and youthful I become.

Spirituality, to me, is my connectedness to the universe. It is a knowing that I am here for a purpose, my soul's purpose. It is knowing that everything I do, see, experience means something. It is an inner relationship with god. Knowing that I am not alone and that no one else is, either. Spirituality is taking life's lessons - the good and the bad, and applying them for greater good. It is made up of all thoughts, words and actions. All that I am and all that I do. Spirituality, like love, is a verb.

I do believe what the others have mentioned. My spirituality and serenity go hand in hand.

Until I go into AA I used to attend a church service. The last years of my drinking I'd fallen away at least from being Catholic.

I make it a habit of reading the bible first thing in the morning and saying a prayer b 4 work. Thanks to S/R most of my days revolve around inspirational and spiritual readings.

For me to be spiritual, I have to live that way as well. I know far to well, what the other dark side is like. I do believe there is a force of evil alive and well.

As long as we are living a manner which we belive our God wants us to live, we have an innerpeace in our lives that emits a light from our souls.

I also believe, it is up to us to shine our light and share our hope with everyone else

Spirituality

Let's take a look at religion first;
Religion is a specific system of practices and rituals, based on a belief in a specific divin or superhuman power, usually practiced through membership in a specific human organization, usually called a church

Spirituality is a focus on the moral aspects of life, on what is right and will help us become the best people we are capable of being.

We could say it this way. A religion is a way created by people to try to achieve spirituality. We could think of spirituality as like water and religion as like a bottle, a container to hold water-------water can exist outside of a bottle, and some bottles contain other things instead of water.

Why work on spirituality? Because it can make the difference between success or failure in staying clean and sober. It is the key to effective use of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and other Twelve-Step Programs.

I hear you Pernell, and amen. Working my program helped me find my spiritual connection again, and having found it, this connection helps me work my program. They really go hand in hand, and one enhances the other. This codie needs both to keep her balance and stay on the right path.

Hugs

Spirituality is a way of life. A way of acting, speaking, thinking, doing. the connection that everyone has mentioned to not just a higher power but for me to the human race. Anyone outside of myself. I find my spirituality and progress spiritually (if you will) by ritual, prayer, meditation, giving of myself when I would normally not. I like some of the Synonyms I found for spirituality:
commitment

Synonyms:**
adherence, adoration, affection, allegiance, ardor, attachment, consecration, constancy, dedication, deference, devotedness, devotement, devoutness, earnestness, enthusiasm, faithfulness, fealty, fervor, fidelity, fondness, intensity, love, loyalty, observance, passion, piety, reverence, sanctity, service, spirituality, worship, zeal

Spirituality is for me, quite simply, letting go. I pray for the willingness to accept my higher powers will, and the power to carry it out. Thats it.
