Prayer Circle for Peace

Please add your prayer for world peace.

Send Thy peace O Lord, which is
perfect and everlasting,
that our souls may radiate peace.

Send Thy peace O Lord, that we
may think, act and speak harmoniously.

Send Thy peace O Lord, that we
may be contented and thankful for
Thy bountiful gifts.

Send Thy peace O Lord, that amidst
our worldly strife, we may enjoy Thy bliss.

Send Thy peace O Lord, that we
may endure all, tolerate all, in the thought of
Thy grace and mercy.

Send Thy peace O Lord, that our lives
may become a Divine vision and in Thy light,
all darkness may vanish.

Send Thy peace O Lord, our Father and Mother,
that we Thy children on Earth may all
unite in one family.

prayer for peace - pir-o-murshid inayat khan - 1921 ±

Bump! Even if you just post the word peace and think about it for a moment. There is power in prayer or peaceful thoughts. Help the world out by sending yours out to the universe. The world needs prayer right now...

I've always like this one.

PRAYER OF PEACE

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Saint Francis of Assisi
(1181-1226),
Prayer of Peace

Prayer For World Peace

We pray to the great Spiritual Power in which
we live and move and have our being.
We pray that we may at all times
keep our minds open to new ideas and shun dogma;
that we may grow in our understanding of the nature of all living beings
and our connectedness with the natural world;
that we may become ever more filled with
generosity of spirit and true compassion and love for all life;
that we may strive to heal the hurts that we have inflicted on nature
and control our greed for material things, knowing that
our actions are harming our natural world and the future of our children;
that we may value each and every human being
for who he is, for who she is,
reaching to the spirit that is within,
knowing the power of each individual to change the world.

We pray for social justice,
for the alleviation of the crippling poverty
that condemns millions of people around the world
to lives of misery - hungry, sick, and utterly without hope.
We pray for the children who are starving,
who are condemned to homelessness, slave labor, and prostitution,
and especially for those forced to fight, to kill and torture
even members of their own family.
We pray for the victims of violence and war,
for those wounded in body and for those wounded in mind.
We pray for the multitudes of refugees, forced from their homes to alien places
through war or through the utter destruction of their environment.

We pray for suffering animals everywhere,
for an end to the pain caused by scientific experimentation,
intensive farming, fur farming, shooting, trapping,
training for entertainment, abusive pet owners,
and all other forms of exploitation
such as overloading and overworking pack animals,
bull fighting, badger baiting, dog and **** fighting and so many more.

We pray for an end to cruelty,
whether to humans or other animals,
for an end to bullying, and torture in all its forms.
We pray that we may learn the peace that comes with forgiving
and the strength we gain in loving;
that we may learn to take nothing for granted in this life;
that we may learn to see and understand with our hearts;
that we may learn to rejoice in our being.

We pray for these things with humility;
We pray because of the hope that is within us,
and because of a faith in the ultimate triumph of the human spirit;
We pray because of our love for Creation, and because of our trust in God.
We pray, above all, for peace throughout the world.

prayer for world peace - dr. jane goodall

Native American Prayer for Peace

O Great Spirit of our

Ancestors, I raise

my pipe to you.

To your messengers the four winds, and

to Mother Earth who provides

for your children.

Give us the wisdom to teach our children

to love, to respect, and to be kind to each

other so that they may grow

with peace in mind.

Let us learn to share all good things that

you provide for us on this Earth.

Creator Open Our Hearts

Creator, open our hearts
to peace and healing between all people.

Creator, open our hearts
to provide and protect for all children of the earth.

Creator, open our hearts
to respect for the earth, and all the gifts of the earth.

Creator, open our hearts
to end exclusion, violence, and fear among all.

Thank-you for the gifts of this day and every day.

A Jewish Teaching

"In that hour when the Egyptians died in the Red Sea, the
ministers wished to sing the song of praise before the Holy One,
but he rebuked them saying:

"My handiwork is drowning in the sea;
would you utter a song before me in honor of that?"
from the Sanhedrin

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Jewish Prayer for Peace

"Come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, that we may walk the paths of the Most High. And we shall beat our swords into ploughshares and our spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation—neither shall they learn war any more. And none shall be afraid, for the mouth of the Lord of Hosts has spoken."

-----------------------------------------------------
"Grant us peace. Your most precious gift, O Eternal Source of peace, and give us the will to proclaim its message to all the peoples of the earth. Bless our country, that it may always be a stronghold of peace, and its advocate among the nations. May contentment reign within its borders, health and happiness within its homes. Strengthen the bonds of friendship among the inhabitants of all lands. And may the love of Your name hallow every home and every heart. Blessed is the Eternal God, the source of Peace."

Shalom!

I pray for all of humanity to one day feel the pulse of the Mother Earth in their feet as they tread. I pray for mankind to find the faith to believe in the messages carried by their dreams and to see beyond the visible world. I pray that everyone I come in contact with can walk away with much, or at least some, of the happiness that lives within me. I pray for peace, acceptance, and tolerance for all who express their love for the higher power (whatever that name may be). Most of all, I pray for an end to the violence and depravity that darkens many souls. Peace be with us all!

I pray today all mankind finds finds peace in their hearts, instead of so much hate and anger. I pray today all our prayers will reach the so troubled hearts, teach them LOVE, teach them there is a better way to live.

Joining hands with all of SR...there is a power in prayer, it's a gift and it's HUGE...please join us today.

(((Trish))) thanks for starting a much needed thread, love you girl, I have your hand and (((Ann's)))...come on SR, reach out.

Here's a beautiful message for world peace from a 12 year old girl.
Out of the mouth of babes...thank you beautiful young lady.
Today your prayer will be heard world wide.

There Is Hope

:present:

The World We Live In?
It really doesn't make any sense?
I don't understand why we all
can't accept each others differences.
Think about that,
what people say to others about the things
that make us who we are today,
religion, race, custom, and background.
God didn't think that what he created
would once become the cause of such war and hatred.
Hope, belief, love and peace,
they are just what the world
.... needs right now.

Today, if you could only think of the people
who truly matter in your life.
And let this remind you that
there is something that you can
pull out of all this mess.
Hope, it shines through.
If you look around you
at the people you can see it.

Would you please forward this to
everyone you know and care about.
I hope for this to reach the world.

They need to listen......
Thank you,

Emilee Burgess
age 12

I remember when the Gulf War began, going in to a convenience store across from my office and the man on the counter was from Iraq, and looked very sad.

I said "Do you have family there?" and he replied "yes, my mother and two sisters. They have gone into a mountain village to be with my uncle, but I have no contact with them there."

It struck me then that we live in a very small world, that what touches one, touches all of us. Today, I pray for peace, I pray for our friends in London and for their families, that they may all be kept safe.

FROM A DISTANCE

From a distance
The world looks blue and green
And the snow capped mountains white
From a distance
The ocean meets the stream
And the eagle takes to flight

From a distance
There is harmony
And it echoes through the land
Its the voice of hope
Its the voice of peace
Its the voice of every man

From a distance
We all have enough
And no one is in need
And there are no guns, no bombs and no disease
No hungry mouths to feed
From a Distance
We are instruments
Marching in a common band
Playing songs of hope
Playing songs of peace
They are the songs of every man

Chorus

God is watching us
God is watching us
God is watching us
From a distance

From a distance
You look like my friend
Even though we are at war
From a distance
I just cannot comprehend
What all this fightings for
From a distance
There is harmony
And it echoes through the land
And its the hope of hopes
Its the love of loves
Its the heart of every man

FROM A DISTANCE

Peace...

Now I say to you in conclusion,
life is hard,
at times as hard as crucible steel. (Mmm)
It has its bleak and difficult moments.
Like the ever-flowing waters of the river,
life has its moments of drought and its moments of flood. (Yeah)
Like the ever-changing cycle of the seasons,
life has the soothing warmth of its summers
and the piercing chill of its winters. (Yeah)
But if one will hold on,
he will discover that God walks with him, (Yeah. Well)
and that God is able (Yeah) to lift you from the fatigue of despair
to the buoyancy of hope
and transform dark and desolate valleys
into sunlit paths of inner peace. (Mmm)

eulogy for the martyred children - martin luther king jr. - 1963

Lord, we know what peace is. Peace is a mother
tenderly holding her child. Peace is a firm
handshake of trust between friends. Peace is
complete emotional security. Peace is living
unencumbered with a full sense of joy. Peace
is expressing Thanksgiving for concrete blessings.

For the peace gained from the love and memory
of spouses and children, we thank you ..

For the peace gained from the love and memory
of parents and grandparents, we thank you ..

For the peace gained from the kindness and
support of friends, we thank you ..

For the peace gained when the music of the
Gods is sung, we thank you ..

Peace is elusive. There are raging storms
in every life. Tragedy, grief, and pain will
visit everyone. Yet, each person's life is
graced by moments and periods of
real happiness. For these episodes of
peace and joy .. past, present, & future,
we offer our deepest gratitude.

Help us to understand that peace must
be waged. We must resist the gun, the
bomb, "realistic politics," unkind words,
personal betrayals, anger, depression,
despair, and rage. Give us the strength
to overcome these demons. Help us
maintain personal power within ourselves,
so we can pass this liberating power to others.

Give hope and courage to all who struggle
with debilitating illness, grief, and loneliness.
Help them to understand .. ALL chains WILL
be BROKEN.

SURSUM CORDA! Lift up your hearts!

QUI POTENS EST! God is great!

Amen

LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH

Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on Earth,
the peace that was meant to be.

With God as our Creator,
family all are we,
Let us walk with each other,
in perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me,
let this be the moment now.
With every step I take,
let this be my solemn vow,

To take each moment and live each moment
in peace, eternally.
Let there be Peace on Earth,
and let it begin with me.

((((...))))

Who will hold my hand? Who will send the energy on to weave a circle of light?
I call on the light,
I call to the Lord and the Lady, whatever you wish to call them,
I call to the four corners of the Earth,
Strengthen this circle and let the power grow,
Let the love flow!
--A Druidic Prayer

Children, everybody, here's what to do during war:

In a time of destruction, create something.
A poem.
A parade.
A community.
A school.
A vow.
A moral principle.
One peaceful moment.

Thank You Dionne Warwick

What The World Needs Now Is Love

What the world needs now is love sweet love,
It's the only thing that there's just too little of.
What the world needs now is love sweet love,
no not just for some but for everyone.

Lord we don't need another mountain,
There are mountains and hillsides enough to climb,
There are oceans and rivers enough to cross
Enough to last until the end of time

What the world needs now is love sweet love,
it's the only thing that theres just too little of,
what the world needs now is love sweet love,
no not just for some but for everyone

Lord, we dont need another meadow,
there are corn fields and wheat fields enough to grow,
there are sunbeams and moonbeams enough to shine,
oh listen Lord, if you want to know

What the world needs now is love sweet love,
its the only thing that theres just too little of.
what the world needs now is love sweet love,
no not just for some, oh but just for every every everyone.

What the world needs now is love sweet love.

Praying For World Peace

You are the peace of all things calm
You are the place to hide from harm
You are the light that shines in dark
You are the heart's eternal spark
You are the door that's open wide
You are the guest who waits inside
You are the stranger at the door
You are the calling of the poor
You are my Lord and with me from ill
You are the light, the truth, the way
You are my Saviour this very day.

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the infinite peace to you.

May There Be Peace Within

May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be...
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you...
May you be content knowing you are a child of God...
Let this presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of you...

When Mother Teresa received her Nobel Prize,
she was asked the question, "What can we do to
promote world peace?" She replied...
