| Member | The Journey to Self-Knowledge
"The achievement of your goal is assured the moment you commit yourself to it." -- Mack R. Douglas As you've most likely discovered, the path to self-knowledge is not usually easy or comfortable. The journey IN to peel away our defences requires that we become aware of our pain and our fears and begin to challenge the beliefs we've hung on to all our lives. And the journey OUT to more authentically express who we are demands that we move out of our comfort zones, to chart new frontiers for ourselves. Both journeys require commitment from us, a resolve to evolve. The changes that occur when we journey in or out shake up our status quo. Threatened, our ego will raise all kinds of resistance, both obvious and subtle. Please don't beat yourself up when you find yourself balking at new directions. Have compassion for your insecure ego. Acknowledge and feel its fears. Then firmly hold to your commitment to experience more of yourself. Imagine and sense greater possibilities for yourself and let those sensations sit with your insecurities. Higher energies always have more power and they will transform the fears, if we just allow them to be together without resistance and judgment. "If you want to take your mission in life to the next level, if you're stuck and you don't know how to rise, don't look outside yourself. Look inside. Don't let your fears keep you mired in the crowd. Abolish your fears and raise your commitment level to the point of no return, and I guarantee you that the Champion Within will burst forth to propel you toward victory." -- Bruce Jenner |
