Carl Sagan quote on god

"In some respects, science has far surpassed religion in delivering awe. How is it that hardly any major religion has looked at science and concluded, "This is better than we thought! The Universe is much bigger than our prophets said, grander, more subtle, more elegant. God must be even greater than we dreamed"? Instead they say, "No, no, no! My god is a little god, and I want him to stay that way.""

This is how I feel about god and spirituality. Every religion and great discovery has added something on the path towards revelation, but the truth is so much greater, more awesome and more holy, and we as humans will never understand it.

I've always liked Carl Sagen's take on God.. it does tick off the very religious, but underneath everything, he always believed in a God as he could understand.

Something (science related) I've been meaning to read into is, String Theory and\or the 'God particle' which has special interest for me as I believe in a God which is all around us, everything we see and feel. Creates structure and purpose from even the smallest of things.

A truly religious person can recognize the connection between science and the Universal Presence.
The more we learn scientifically, the more in awe I am of G-d.

In my opinion, the world would be a better place if the religious would respect science, since no human being has the answers about G-d.
And no scientist has all the answers about science!
