Lightbulb Prayers for Healing from Around the World

May our eyes remain open even in the face of tragedy.
May we not become disheartened.

May we offer the power of our sorrow to the service of
something greater than ourselves.
May our guilt not rise up to form yet another
defensive wall.
May the suffering purify and not paralizye us.
May we endure; may sorrow bond us
and not separate us.

May clarity be our ally and wisdom our suppot.
May our wrath be cleansing, cutting through the
confusion of denial and greed.
May we not be afraid to see or speak our truth.

May the soul's journey be revealed
and the true hunger fed.
May we be forgiven for what we have forgotten and
blessed with the remembrance of who we really are.
-from The Terma Collective

Shalom!

Meditation On Compassion

May I be peaceful, happy, and light in body and in mind.
May I be safe and free from accidents.
May I be free from anger, unwholesome states of mind, fear, and worries.
May I know how to look at myself with the eyes of understanding and love.
May I be able to recognize and touch the seeds of joy and happiness in myself.
May I learn how to nourish myself with joy each day.
May I be able to live fresh, solid and free.
May I not fall into the state of indifference or be caught in the extremes of attachment and aversion.

May you be peaceful, happy, and light in body and in mind.
May you be safe and free from accidents.
May you be free from anger, unwholesome states of mind, fear, and worries.
May you know how to look at yourself with the eyes of understanding and love.
May you be able to recognize and touch the seeds of joy and happiness in yourself.
May you learn how to nourish yourself with joy each day.
May you be able to live fresh, solid and free.
May you not fall into the state of indifference or be caught in the extremes of attachment and aversion.

May all beings be peaceful, happy, and light in body and in mind.
May all beings be safe and free from accidents.
May all beings be free from anger, unwholesome states of mind, fear, and worries.
May all beings know how to look at themselves with the eyes of understanding and love.
May all beings be able to recognize and touch the seeds of joy and happiness in themselves.
May all beings learn how to nourish themselves with joy each day.
May all beings be able to live fresh, solid and free.
May all beings not fall into the state of indifference or be caught in the extremes of attachment and aversion.

All things in this creation exist within you, and all things in you exist in creation; there is no border between you and the closest things, and there is no distance between you and the farthest things, and all things, from the lowest to the loftiest, from the smallest to the greatest, are within you as equal things. In one atom are found all the elements of the earth; in one motion of the mind are found the motions of all the laws of existence; in one drop of water are found the secrets of all the endless oceans; in one aspect of you are found all the aspects of existence...[Thus] "Your life has no end, and you shall live forevermore."

There are moments when wellness escapes us,
Moments when pain and suffering
Are not dim possibilities
But all too agonizing realities.
At such moments we must open ourselves to healing.
Much we can do for ourselves;
An what we can do
We must do -
Healing,
No less than illness,
is participatory.

But even when we do all we can do
There is,
Often,
Still much left to be done.
And so we turn as well to our healers
Seeking their skill to aid in our struggle for illness.

But even when they do all they can do
There is,
Often,
Still much left to be done.
And so we turn to Life.
To the vast Power of Being that animates the universe
As the ocean animates the wave,
Seeking to let go of that which blocks our healing.

May those
Whose lives are gripped in the palm of suffering
Open
Even now
To the Wonder of Life.
May they let go of the hurt
And meet the True Self beyond the pain,
The Uncarved Block
That is our joyous Unity with Holiness.

May they discover through pain and torment
The strength to live with grace and humor.
May they discover through doubt and anguish
The strength to live with dignity and holiness.
May they discover through suffering and fear
The strength to move toward healing.
--Rabbi Rami M. Shapiro

I'm glad you are enjoying it. The spiritual/holistic care services advisor from the hospital compiled a booklet, and that is from where I am taking these.
She got these from the book,

Yesterday, mom joined my dad in the waters around the ocean drive.
It is exactly as they both wanted.
They have been reunited.

We raised a toast to them both.
We put flowers into the water preceding the remains and following them.
And my brother, Stuart, read the following prayer for healing.
I thought you might like it:

Quote:
DEATH AND THE ETERNAL

" When you walk through a forest that has not been tamed and interfered with by man, you will see not only abundant life all around you, but you will also encounter fallen trees and decaying trunks, rotting leaves and decomposing matter at every step.
Wherever you look, you will find death as well as life.

Upon closer scrutiny, however, you will discover that the decomposing tree trunk and rotting leaves not only give birth to new life, but are full of life themselves. Microorganisms are at work. Molecules are rearranging themselves.
So death isn't to be found anywhere. There is only the metamorphosis of life forms.

What can you learn from this?

Death is not the opposite of life. Life has no opposite.

The opposite of death is birth.

Life is eternal."

Eckhart Tolle "Stillness Speaks"

Shalom!

A Blessing for All Beings

May everyone be happy and safe,
and may their hearts be filled with joy.

May all living beings live in security and in peace
beings who are frail or strong,
tall or short, big or small,
visible or not visible, near or far away,
already born or yet to be born.
May all of them dwell in perfect tranquility.

Let no one do harm to anyone.
Let no one put the life of anyone in danger.
Let no one, out of anger or ill will,
wish anyone any harm.

Metta Sutta (Stuttanipata)
Translated by Thich Nhat Hahn.

(Not from that booklet mentioned above.)

About the Poem
This blessing for happiness, peace and security was one of the earliest blessings included as part of the Journey of Hearts' Poetry collection. The sentiments of this beautiful blessing evoke a sense of happiness and peace. It was written to all living beings, "visible or not visible, near or far away, already born or yet to be born" thus becoming a blessing for all--anyone who is living, has yet to live or who has died.

When you find this blessing--take a moment to read it once as a blessing for yourself, read it again as a blessing for your loved ones, and read it a final time, as a blessing for those who are no longer with us.

Shalom!

A Prayer for the World

Let the rain come and wash away
the ancient grudges, the bitter hatreds
held and nurtured over generations.
Let the rain wash away the memory
of the hurt, the neglect.
Then let the sun come out and
fill the sky with rainbows.
Let the warmth of the sun heal us
wherever we are broken.
Let it burn away the fog so that
we can see each other clearly.
So that we can see beyond labels,
beyond accents, gender or skin color.
Let the warmth and brightness
of the sun melt our selfishness.
So that we can share the joys and
feel the sorrows of our neighbors.
And let the light of the sun
be so strong that we will see all
people as our neighbors.
Let the earth, nourished by rain,
bring forth flowers
to surround us with beauty.
And let the mountains teach our hearts
to reach upward to heaven.
.
-- Rabbi Harold Kushner

Shalom!

I take for my sureties:

The power of G*D to guide me,
The might of G*D to uphold me,
The wisdom of G*D to teach me,
The eye of G*D to watch over me,
The ear of G*D to hear me,
The word of G*D to give me speech,
The hand of G*D to protect me,
The way of G*D to go before me,
The shield of G*D to shelter me...

Christ be with me, Christ before me,
Christ behind me, Christ within me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ at my right, Christ at my left,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks to me,
Christ in the eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
--St Patrick
