TRULY spiritual read.

This book was recommended me by my church Sunday school group. It is incredible!!! I started it yesterday and can not put it down.
"Out of the Black Shadows" by Stephen Lungu

Below is an excerpt from page 80-81 Stephen was a destitute, homeless gang member in politically strifed Africa. He happened upon a tent meeting and the gang was going to bomb it. He listened in for a bit.

"Suddenly I began to understand what Christianity was all about. It was for someone like me! I could identify with this Jesus."......
"The preacher was now saying that anyone who wanted could have this Jesus. I could exchange my poverty and sin for Jesus' love and riches. The transaction that Jesus was offering me suddenly became clear. Then I stopped bobbing about and sat still, utterly at and end to myself. Tears for all the pain, loneliness, self-hatred and fear I had known coursed down my cheeks."

This is an incredibly awesome moment for Stephen;he completely hands his life over to the care of God. I also had tears streaming down my face when i read this powerful moment. The spiritual awakening was so strong even in print is capable of bringing one to their knees to rededicate their life.

The turning over of our life to God is one we all struggle with. It becomes extremely diffcult to "hand over" the reigns to someone you cant see. But having faith one does this. The "fake it til you make it" rings true here for me, if you dont believe just keep praying, it will happen.

I heard someone say the other day, How ready are you to be accountable for your life? He went on to say that it is not about religious beliefs;it is about your personal relationship with God. He truly is the Higher Power that can set us all free from our disease, self loathing, anxiety, pressures and all the stresses that we call life.

I really have been affected by this book; it is incredible and I highly recommend it. I am going to talk to my Pastor about letting me do a book study on it. I cant wait.

Thanks,
Star
