Over it

Hey y’all
So I’m trying to straighten my life up and pull my sh*t together!!!
For me to do that I need to give up everything that controls my life and has a negative outcome!!! It’s took me a long time to realize pot is a drug and harmful i was in denial until the last few months reading some of your post!!! I’m tired of relapse and starting over again I’ve done damage to my body with smoking so I’m doing everything I can and trying to get all the support I can to live a normal healthy life!! If y’all don’t care I’ll be doing a lot more reading around!!!
Day 2 for me
Hopefully everyone on here is doing okay!!!!
Take care y’all

Welcome! Glad you're here!
Seems it takes us a while to figure out that pot is doing us no favors. Took me 37 years!
Read around here and post a lot. I found this site so valuable.
Stay strong!

Good luck nochole.
You can do this
That pot steals your ambition.
It had a hold on me in my younger years.
I found giving up the nicotine helped me give up the pot.
I’d smoke it pure without tobacco and find myself hyperspacing past my friends vibe who were smoking it as a normal joint.
Couldn’t get on the same wavelength and ended up paranoid, thus ruining my day/night.
Take care

Welcome to the club! Read all you want and share your experience as well. I find it very nice to know that I'm not alone on my journey to sobriety. And also that I'm not the only one stuggling with it.

Thanks everyone I appreciate it!!!! I will say I have never smoke tobacco in my life and the lung specialist said I have only 70% of my lungs I really believe I’ve lost a lot to smoking!!! Which I do have asthma and smoking doesn’t help!!! Also I have some crazy panic attacks and anxiety which I’m pretty sure pot has to do with that too!!!! I realize my problem when I kept putting myself in harm of breathing and risk of jail!!! I knew it was getting out of hand when I started doing dabs and all the awful things they are coming up with!!!! Never again will I go back

Hey Nichole, hope you got through the day ok and woke up the next day with a mindset that's easier to deal with. Cravings can be intense, tiring and most of all: seemingly forever-lasting. I hope you found a way to deal with them.

Keep us updated!

So back to day 1 tomorrow,,,I gave in and wasn’t worth it!!! I need to be more active on here...i force on alcohol and pot keeps sneaking up on me. Nots as “fun” 15 years ago and last thing I need at the moment with my issues is something that messes with your head!!!! But the cravings I swear had my hands shaking and my mind was gone it was wrapped up on the joint and I zoned everything out!!!! I hate this I can’t seem to get rid of pot or alcohol and now unlucky me is relying on benzo to help get me through the day I can tell when it’s time to take one that has to be a sign sry off subject.... anyways time to go full time on here no more replacing one with another...sober time
Take care y’all

Thanks for the update. Posting here often sure helps a great deal. It does for me. Especially in those first weeks. I would also advise to read other peoples threads, even from a few years ago. I sorted them on the number of replies. It's more or less the same story (without becoming boring!). Everybody struggles in their own way and everyone who gives in later reports back that it wasn't worth it.

Having pretty heavy cravings myself these days I do however understand that the arguments mentioned above and by others feel pretty worthless when the cravings hit. Like you said: your head wraps around it. There is nothing to think about besides smoking. Your mind will play tricks on you until you reach the point where there is no option but to smoke. You reason yourself into smoking again.

Good luck with that inner struggle. It can be a real b*tch!

Sorry you are going through such hell, Nicole!
You just gotta grit your teeth and do it.
Are there other activities that give you pleasure?
Exercise can be a real mood lifter too. Just a simple walk can do it.
I agree that being on this site a lot helps immensely. I lived on here at first. Now it's only several times a day!
Thinking of you and rooting for ya!

Tomorrow day 1
Wasn’t expected to be offered today I didn’t have to say yes but seeing it smelling it I said screw it now I was there was a rewind button but I’m glad I was at where I was and hung out with the guy (tattoo artist) because he has a lot of the same mental problems and it was nice to be able to relate to someone in person and talk but some of his advice was bad but a lot made sense on dealing with our disease we don’t have to let it run our life we can control our moods and emotions most of the time by how we live bright side I finished my half sleeve btw his advice was stop all medication and smoke pot it’s just the same as pills I have to call BS on that but live and learn
