Grateful for birds

We were just outside watching prox 12 hummingbirds on their 3 feeders. It's very peaceful watching them. We have 9 bird feeders here around our house and garage.

An old guy that I knew in AA many years ago suggested that we should all have a bird feeder at home so as to watch God's little amazing birds. I believe that he was right and was sharing with us one of the many keys to sobriety. Getting out of self and spending some of our time watching birds.

I must admit I never paid much attention to them before getting sober. I was so self-involved & oblivious. It's good to participate in life.

We need more feeders.

Careful for as we know with many other things -- they are addicting.

A nice sober evening wished for all,

I was looking out my living room window today when a hummingbird came up to it and, hovered right in front of me. It just sat there for the longest time looking at me. After it left I checked my hummingbird feeder and, sure enough it was empty. that one smart birdbrain!

We have had 3 hummingbird feeder out for a while now.
This morning there must be around 20 to 30 hummingbirds on the feeders.
Amazing to watch.
A nice sober day wished for all,
MB

Looks like the hummingbirds in my area have left and, flown south for the winter already. The robins are gone too. Some of the year round residents, like the Goldfinches, are switching over there feathers to winter plumage also. Might be a long winter.

Jsm - same here. It turned really warm this week after being cold. I think some of the birdies jumped the gun.
