Here I am on Day 3
Here I am on Day 3
I have to admit, I feel uneasy about being in the single digits again. But, I'm sober today and planning on a sober weekend with my family since they are back from Europe! Yay!
I'm slowly recovering from the laryngitis. Had a doctor visit yesterday and was excused from work, although I will be returning to work this afternoon as long as I'm feeling alright.
What have I learned and what will I do different this time?
I have learned that no matter how long I am sober, I cannot stop actively working on my recovery. I cannot skate by without doing some type of recovery work each day. I have also accepted the fact that I cannot drink for ANY reason whatsoever. There are going to be rough times when I will feel stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, etc. This does not allow me a "pass" to drink. No matter what happens in life, alcohol is not a choice for me. Not even one drop!

I am glad you are back and working on your sobriety Bronzie. I hope you have a great weekend with your family. I would go 2 or 3 months without drinking than fall off the wagon for a few weeks and get back on. Eventually it stuck and it will for you too.
Yay for day 3, bronzie
Good things will happen, bad things will happen. Neither will be improved or solved by adding alcohol. Rather the opposite of that will happen.
Accepting this fact is tantamount to my recovery.
Onward with our recovery
