Class of July 2013 Part 41
Yep, private cover means health insurance in Oz....that's what we call it.
We are (well not me any longer) are so blessed in Australia ~ public health covers a lot. It's very different than it is here. ♥

Bob, glad to hear the surgery is scheduled so quickly. I thought this little anecdote might add some humor to the situation. As I mentioned my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1989 just before my daughter was born. She often said the birth gave her the will to go on. Anyways, my mom had a full mastectomy but did not want reconstructive surgery so she got a prosthetic, basically a gelatinous fake boob. When she put her pajamas on she would leave the prosthetic on the top of the toilet tank, Lord knows why. My daughter was about 18 months old when she walked into the kitchen carrying Grandma's fake boob, talking to it and calling it Wilbur. From that day on we all called it Wilbur!

That was a good one LuLu.
Well, I'm off to bed. I'll probably go on my tablet for a while.
I very much lime reading the post here on SR.
Cause even though we are speckled all over this blue and white marble.
We can still bring comfort and love to each other from afar.

Your post gave me a good chuckle
Such a good post , thanks Lulu xxx
Suze ,thanks for clearing that up for me Do you have to pay for doc visits there ? Is there any bulk billing? Is their Medicade like Medicare?
Is the American health system as bad as we are led to believe?
Can't be too bad with The way they have looked after Bobs wife. That was so quick.
I'm sure Australia is going down the gurgled these days with the bloody Liberals!
Shite health care, education and closing so many of our hospitals.
I hope everyone is having a good day/ night xx
Shaun's been a little testy the last couple of days ( understandably so ) and we still haven't got our results.
Angie is really sick today & I can't see her as I visited my brother yesterday .didnt know he had a sore throat, so even if I don't get it, I could be a carrier. So I've got to be really careful.
The 4 th day of chemo is the pits but it's something we have learnt and are prepared for when Shaun starts his.
Love to you all xx

Suze, we are fortunate to have national health cover in UK. It is such a blessing when needed. We pay a percentage of our wages into the NHS and this covers any hospital stays etc.
And although we pay for prescription medicines we have a pre-payment scheme, where you can pay a yearly fee of £104 and it covers all your prescriptions. When mine are around £50 per month, I'm so pleased I found out about the prepayment scheme. ( not that you can be pleased about taking meds, lol, but it lightens the load, financially).
