Class of October 2016 Support Thread
Hi everyone! Its' really great to see some of the successful stories here. Also sucks to read about the suffering bits, but that's part of getting better, right?
Day three for me now, and certainly not the first time I've been down this road, but I've got my doctor's appointment set up and waiting on the EAP counsellors. I've always had issues reaching out for help, so I'm hoping these are some good first steps!

Hello to all you beautiful people! I am very excited to join this thread! I started my journey of sobriety earlier this month & it was also my birthday earlier this month so theres no better time to have a fresh start & experience a re-birth of sorts. I am 25 & have been drinking heavily for 5 years. I have tried to quit before & managed a few weeks but this time I have a passion & a fire in me, I want to be done for good! I am very grateful that I have the wise words/stories/support from SR. So thank you all for sharing & for letting me be a part of your recovery & being a part of mine. Good luck to all!

Welcome all, exciting to keep on seeing new faces.
Off to work - going to walk today - it's only 3km and want to mix things up. Was in the supermarket yesterday and noticed that the cravings I just to have have decreased massively, wouldn't say they're gone, but definitely manageable now.

Morning all, lovely to see more people joining the class welcome everyone.
So pleased to be 2 weeks sober. I'm having a few dizzy spells around midday which could be lack of nicotine I guess, it soon passes.
Trying to plan my career path now or whether to change career completely. My job takes me overseas for months at a time away from my wife and family, I drink a lot when I'm away if I have free time due to boredom. I'm thinking to change career so I can be home all the time but ill have to work out what I want to do first.
Feeling confused about it all at the moment.
Have a great day everyone.

Maybe re-reading your past posts will help you gain perspective again Horatio?
The only thing you can expect from drinking again is the stuff you've written about in the past..or worse.
There's nothing inevitable about you drinking again if you don;t want to.

For those of you new to SR, we usually close each thread at 500 posts and then open up a continuing part two.
It's easier for people to just join in that way
