Blackout by Sarah Hepola
I believe I saw reference to this book posted in the women's forum or another forum, but WOW! Did anyone else really identify with her story? I thought it was excellent and would highly recommend it.

I read it. It was such a well written book. I also experienced blackouts but the one situation that she describes in Paris just scared me so much. I personally never had that experience but it scares me, the YET's that can happen to us.
Good book!
Good book!
We have lots more books listed here. The biographies are near the end of the list. My favourite bio is Drinking: A Love Story by Caroline Knapp, but I also liked Drunk Mom by Jowita Bydlowska.

Anna: I credit Caroline Knapps Drinking- A Love Story at helping me to make the desicion to get sober. I have read it about 5 times in the last 6 months or so!
The book makes me sad when I read it just knowing that she passed away though. I wish so much I could have met her maybe at a book signing or something. What a unique beautiful special person she was!

I have not read Blackout I rarely had blackouts no matter how much I drank. I heard a story recently at a meeting a member who lives south of San Francisco came out of blackout in a Seattle airport and was having a talk at the bar with Bill Russell HOF basketball player that would be a wake up call. My brother's ex wife was a blackout drinker and never had to make amends for the BS she created because she did not remember the horror stories, now that was convenient for her.
