Hi to everyone,Well today is exactly 10weeks since I gave up smoking ciggarettes.I can honestly say it has been the hardest thing I have ever undertaken. It took untill week 6 for my deepressed state to subside and yes,the sense of loss and longing.I smoked for 40years,so giving up cold turkey the way I did is not for the faint hearted.Hang on in there, anyone who is finding this hard,it does get better.

I'll take 24 hours smoke free.
I'm not an all the time smoker. But I am really having problems with not smoking with the other smoker Moms at sports practices. Sigh. That could be a little hard to break. But I am determined to have a totally smoke free 2018. I'll be checking in to be accountable.

1 year and 4 months nicotine free!
** breathing deeply...without coughing! **
The reflex of wanting a smoke is still there but many days can pass now without a single craving.
Hang on if you're on your first days, it will get a lot easier after a while!

Hi, I would like to join the no nicotine club, but I am not quite there yet. I never really had a problem with cigarettes. I would smoke on rare occasion, but it never became a habit. What I DID do was smoke boatloads of pot, so I do like the smoking sensation. When I quit smoking pot I started vaping nicotine. It gave me a bit of a buzz and gave me that smoking sensation. Of course I jumped right in with a 24 mg oil, I always like to go big!! I liked that I was able to carry it with me, it was legal and discrete. I now smoke the darn thing all the time, several times an hour, even hitting it in the middle of the night when I wake up.
I have a really strong commitment to quitting marijuana and alcohol, but I haven't quite been able to "get there" with the vaping. Perhaps it is because I haven't experienced as many negative consequences as I did with the pot and alcohol, but for some reason it seems much harder. I used CBT to help me quit those two, taking a look at both the positives and negatives of choosing to use and trying to make a rational decision.
I've tried cutting back, but it never seems to stick, so I think I am probably just going to have to go cold turkey and deal with the withdrawals. It helps reading stuff here, especially in regards to vaping. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences, hopefully soon I can be a contributing, nicotine free member of the group!!
