Effects on apperance....
I stopped drinking late may had 2 small slips and have not lost any weight but I am getting a lot of compliments about how good I look and that I must have lost weight? Must be the bloat is gone. Cant wait for the weight to drop off!!!
Next Thursday marks my one year of sobriety and many of the changes have been immeasurable. But here are a few of the perks that I have experienced:
Lost about 70 lbs, gained about 8 back - well because, ice cream.
So much more energy
Eyes are no longer yellow
No more constant shaking
No more constant sweating
I no longer snore
That is just of the few.
Please do not get discouraged. The good things will come.

My boss has 2.5 years. People that haven't seen her in that amount of time don't even recognize her.
Her psoriasis is nearly gone.
Her skin looks fantastic.
She's lost a bunch of weight.
She carries herself so much better.
Her confidence is building.
The redness and bloating in her face is gone, and her skin tone is even.
Her hygiene is better.
She eats better and exercises now.
No more shakes.
She truly looks AMAZING, and like a different person.
All of this doesn't even include the changes in the health of her business, friendships, and family participation.
It isn't just your physical appearance that will change. Hang in there!

you look great, Petecrab! you are so encouraging and inspiring!
I am impatient, too, like others have said. and also eating whatever I want at the moment! my eyes are getting better and hope they will return back to normal soon. also, though I am fairly thin, I weigh the most I have ever (besides post pregnancy), and have a pudgy belly that I hate. i'm hoping my appetite will level out as well and I will lose a few. obviously sobriety is the most important thing, but I know our self images are important to us too. thank you all!
