New here saying hi

Hi all - Just want to introduce myself. I'm just starting on day 1 and am feeling pretty terrible with early detox issues (coming off a 3 day alcohol bender). I just want to get better and want to meet, talk to, and mutually support anyone else going through the same struggle.

So I feel really bad at the moment but am really glad to be here and be sober!

Thanks for the warm welcome all! It really helps to know I'm not alone.

Lily76 - No I havent seen my doctor for awhile. Having been through this many times I don't feel like I'm in a medically dangerous situation, but I'll keep that in mind - thank you!

I actually hadn't had a drink in awhile before this last bender because I'd been having 'success' with combining antabuse and marijuana maintenance to help keep me from drinking for the last few months. But I don't want to be a daily marijuana user either, so as of today I'm off both!

I have a feeling the insomnia in the next few weeks or maybe months might be kinda brutal. Ah early recovery is so much fun! At least I'll have people to talk with about it!

Thanks again!

Hi.

Alcohol can hassle you with insomnia both using and stopping. It's not nice stuff, though it masquerades as such. Try really hard not to use a lot of sleep helps. You may well end up having to get off of them as well. Pray, meditate, or even browse the forum. Those things will be more productive if you're not able to sleep anyway.

Glad you're here.

Xcess
