Sober and growing
Hi Troy. Welcome to the site. It's my first day on the site and I definitely feel welcome here. I'm still exploring, but I've found the blogs to be very helpful. I'm a Christian as well, and I've come to the realization that, for me, I have to read Scripture everyday.... even just a few verses..... it's not optional for me, not a choice, but a necessity to stay sober. I tell myself that it's like needing medicine to stay healthy.... I need Scripture everyday. Congratulations on your 45 days!!
First I was Christian, then Vodka became my God of choice, then I became spiritual, then I became Chistian again but on a much deeper level. The Catholic Church has a thing called the Missal. I read it every day for the bible readings. Some of the Old Testament readings are over my head but the New Testament readings are wonderful. My day starts with my readings and I love it.
I pray, I meditate, I read my missal, I help others, I try to get a little better every day, I go to AA 3 times a week, i work the steps and the side benefit is I stay sober.
Welcome you have found a great online home
