Big Day
Well, today is the day I'm supposed to be meeting my oldest daughter to talk for the first time in nearly 8 months. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Please send up thoughts and prayers that everything goes well.

Well, I had the visit. It was great to see at least one of my girls! Hoping the other will follow soon. It felt a little awkward. She tends to not have a lot to say about serious matters, though I know her well enough to know she has definite feelings about all this. I offered to have her write to me if she feels more comfortable expressing herself in writing. She said she'd like that if here mom would let her...
This is a problem spot for me. In fact, getting along with their mother was always a problem spot for me. If she is deliberately blocking them from communicating with me, that's not only the wrong thing to do to them, it's a violation of the law. I don't want to take it there. In fact, I told her upfront I want to handle all this as civilly as possible. But if she's not doing the same, I don't know that I'll have much of a choice. Clearly she'd prefer that I just disappear.
