It's about me.
Sloan Kettering really do have their ducks lined up in a row. When my mom was undergoing outpatient treatment there, they called us TWICE each day - they would call my dad, the primary caretaker, and then they would call me just to make sure that my dad heard the instructions correctly (he was finding hard to keep track of everything because he was so stressed out.) I really appreciated that.
Dear KIR,
Great news on the prognosis.
We are here for you.
A diagnosis like that puts addiction in its place!
"Enough of your stupid self induced problems!
I just had a cancer diagnosis and this is NFA
(no f-ing around) serious."
I've got to handle this existential threat to MY very
being. I have no time/money/ excess energy
for YOUR pathetic fifth rate endless
soap opera that only a fool would confuse with a
life.

Glad everything went so well and that the cancer had not spread. I worked with a woman who had the same surgery at least 10 years ago and has remained cancer free.
I hope you are feeling well quickly!
