Well, that was not my experience with volunteering at all simpleman - it was really good for me to have a purpose.

Helping others not only made me feel good but it made me feel as if I was making a difference and that helped with my self image a lot

I really wanted to be sober tho


Atomic, I wasn't working when I quit drinking...but I got sober in the same house I used to get drunk in, y'know?

It really is all about attitude and perspective.

I took that determination and bloody mindedness that used to aid in me squeezing in drinking wherever I could and I used to keep me sober
