I' m looking into volunteering while my husband is away out of town and I don't see him for a week. I also isolate myself and drink, and call or e-mail people that I shouldn't be contacting. Alcohol does make certain people do stupid things, and I'm one of them. Even getting out over the weekend to a museum, or whatever interests you, might help you not drink over the weekend, and be alert for your new job.
I feel like doing the same, isolating and drinking some days. I take my mind off it by doing something else to occupy my mind.
Some days nothing works at all and the cravings are tough to handle so its all about just pushing through.

I have problems in the morning and I need to keep busy with errands to keep me away from the liquor store. I try cleaning the house because that makes me feel better if the house is clean.
I get days I have 2 drinks and then bad days, and I'll have 4 or 5.... I try not to go beyond that, I used to be a binge drinker until I blacked out. I get in bad moods then. I did have 2 beers this morning, and I stopped myself beyond that. I fell asleep and woke up with a headache and I wonder why do I even drink those 2 beers. The make me feel bad

Sometimes a person just has to try different meetings where it's comfortable to talk. I went to some meetings that I just didn't like, and others where I connected with the other people. The one meeting I really like was a group of women that were bikers. I found them very down to earth. It was on the other side of town, but I really liked the women.
Violet and Taylord,
I have been thinking of you both.
Bi-polar is tough, but I saw my Dad live a full and mostly happy life when he took his meds. And he was diagnosed in the 40s, so amazing.
But he did love his beer to the day he died -- sometimes wonder how much better he would have been if he lets his meds work without the beer...
Go for it.

I know I would feel better if I didn't drink my beer with my bi-polar meds. Sometimes I feel like I'm just getting by day by day. Sometimes good days, and others not so well. I know I can think myself into a bad mood with the way I think about things, and I have to stop myself.
Today is a nice day in Denver, and I'm going to the Zoo. We have a nice Zoo and grab a hamburger and fries at the Zoo.

I don't have a sponsor, I've tried to get one at an AA meeting but was unsuccessful. Yesterday was a bad day of drinking, and I have a headache today. I hope today I can not drink. Posting everyday is a good idea.

Tuesday, I was upset with my husband and drank to many beers, I had a headache all night and on wed. Today were going to the movies and I feel better not drinking. When, I do go to my liquor store at 8 in the morning, I can't believe the people that are buying liquor at that time of morning and I'm one of them. Mainly they buy vodka, because it's not fattening. Many are women.
