All I know for now

is I will enjoy telling my Dr. I have not had a drink when I see him next.
It's been difficult. Only just over 2 weeks and feels like a month.
Yesterday was a trigger day and I was sad and down all day. I didn't drink but wanted to all day. OCD and tics and the whole basket of nuts.
Anyway I didn't drink.

Recovery is never a straight line. You will have some really hard days, and you'll have some days where it's not that hard at all. The trick is to keep pushing through and refuse to drink, no matter what. The longer you go without drinking, the urges will become less powerful and the less often they will come.

I'm not going to tell you that this will happen in a few weeks or even a few months; but, if you keep pushing through and don't give in, you will come out the other side and it won't be so hard. You can do this, sleepie. I know you can.

Thanks guys I appreciate that, I didn't do myself any favors with a double whammy on my brain chemistry using alcohol and benzos, then it's hard to be objective while you're under the influence and think "Hey, this maybe isn't a good idea"...
So I know it will have ups and downs I hope I just can push through as Suki said.

Getting through the hard days makes the rest of the days easier. And then the hard days don't seem as hard.

Hang in there, Sleepie. You can do this.

Hi Sleepie....

I read your posts and enjoy them very much. I think you're doing a tremendous job. I know you have learning disability but you're obviously very intelligent. Keep going, you!

It's just great hearing from you and that your doing alright. For some reason, I was thinking of you the other day. I really was. Very sorry to hear you're going through tough patch. Try to hang in there. Better days are just around the corner. John

I'm thinking of you often too sleepie--
You really are working hard and making headway.

You are going to need new shirts soon since your sober muscle is getting so strong
