I just told my mom that I'm an alcoholic

Random Jumble:

I need help. I've been here before, last summer I even made it about a month and a half without alcohol. Then I drank. Out of the last 7 days I drank 7 days. Of the July 4th weekend I made it to about 2 pm on Friday and then stayed drunk till this morning. I took a personal day today and called my mom and told her I abuse alcohol and I need help. I just can't keep this up, it's killing my soul. I have a big project that's due in a month but I'm afraid if I don't do something to address it now I'll lose momentum and fall back. I don't know what to do. Thank you for listening.

Do you want to stop? This is a good place to spend time when you are struggling.

Hang out and read - it will help. You can do it.

Welcome back NHT. There are a lot of different ways to go about quitting drinking and getting sober, the first is admitting the problem and making the committment to quit..sounds like maybe you are there? What did you do last summer to stay sober for a month and a half?

Drinking/Alcoholism gets progressively worse for many of us as you found out over the weekend. The next step for some is drinking all day, every day - hope you can catch this before it gets worse. We are here to help as well...let us know what you are thinking and what you might like to try.
