Glad you dodged the first bullet Zab

This is probably no consolation but these things do go in cycles. At the moment commodity prices are low which is bad for producers like SA but eventually it leads to increased demand from consumer countries and that leads to higher commodity prices.

If you ask me the swings are too great and always have been

I guess the knack is to get through the lean times and make hay during the good times

A lot of businesses went under and people lost their jobs but things are slowly improving. I think all economies have periods of growth followed by periods of recession. It doesn't effect everyone but equally nobody is immune. To an extent a recession is almost like an act of God so you can't really get too caught up in the "what ifs" and maybes!!!

One step at a time, as you say...
Ta amp, not much more that I can do mate.

Ta SG, you are right there - people always need food and booze. Cape Town seems to be where all the "arty" types are, so craft beer will work quite well there.

Ta Saoutchick, unfortunately there is something very wrong with what is happening here. Things happened way to quickly and projects were just down very fast. We have never seen anything like this. I guess the CEO's know something that we don't.

Good morning all,

Well it is another day and another dollar. There is not much good news out there in the market. It looks like we are in for more downturn than what we initially thought.

I have mostly completed the facebook social side of the website. I now need to read up all about twitter - I really think I am too old for all this social media stuff.

I am hanging in there and trying to stay as positive as I can. I do have my plan and I am working steadily towards the goal. Things are starting to look good - I really do like what I have done with the website. Animations these days are just so easy.

Time for a cup of tar and a cigarette.

Be safe and be strong.

Cheers,

ZAB

Hi ZaB

The darkest hour is just before the dawn, that's what someone smarter than me said.

It's true that you have stupid and venal politicians - but so do we.

Fortunately it's 2015 and they count for less than before.

Worst comes to the worst Zab there is a shortage of engineers but I don't think it will come to that.

Also Zab - this is from the heart - no matter how much pressure, stay off the booze, even a couple of beers. For people like us there is no happy medium

It doesn't sound like a lecture, Sao, just that you care and are a teensy bit worried. Nout wrong with that :-)

I love the rugby

My eldest son plays and its in my families blood...

I'm looking forward to this World Cup

Hoping ZaB that you are still with us, it doesn't actually matter whether you are drinking or not? I fall off the wagon and get back on all the time....

I find myself though coming back here and joining in again and gradually I start to get back in the mindset of thinking another day one is not far off....

I know that some here are really lucky in that they know from day one that's it no more...

I'm not like that ...I try, keep going, keep going, keep working at it, keep going, then wobble, wobble, and so on....then back here again...but hey better that than not trying at all?

I am waffling on so will stop.

ZaB this is your thread and wondering if you are ok?

I've been putting off starting a new part in case ZaB posted.
I hope Zab will log in to the next part of this thread.

Check in C - even just a quick one - people are worried for you.
