That Ain't In The Big Book
Right. It doesn't tell me to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the first 164 pages of the big book but I still eat three meals most days. Should I stop this practice because it isn't in the program portion of aa's basic text, Alcoholics Anonymous: The Story of How Many Thousands of Men and Women Have Recovered from Alcoholism?

I've got an acquaintance who belongs to an aa home group which doesn't believe in sponsorship because it is not mentioned in the bb. Hard core aa.
Heard him speak a few months back and he can slam the bb with the best of them

Well, as per usual, I look at a title, I read the very first post to get an idea of whats going on in some newbies head, or "old-timer"
So the Big Book is a base-line. You need a foundation. The Big Book is it. There are many things spouted off in a meeting room that are well meant, but most of the time just verbal diaherra, or something to make spoutter off look good. A few things of note: Male must sponsor male, female to female, I call absolute and utter BS on that tall tale,. Back in the day, when AA wasnt so watered down, males sponsored females and vice versa. Now it seems like its rivetted in stone. Hog Wash. Look at LGQT or whatever gay term is. Right BS. Small town anywhere, one meeting a week, a male newcomer comes into a female decader with solid foundation of AA. Go for it. Non of this treatment centre line, big city town BS.
Fake it until you make it.
The Big Book suggests, Complete and utter honesty.
We will love you until you can love yourself.
Might as well drink, slap em a $100.
