I did end up seeing the movie and I didn't drink. It was awesome! Didn't get much sleep last night but I'll make up for that tonight.

That can be extremely motivating to keep you away from drinks when you're tempted.

A good sponsor will help you work through the 12 steps, plus be there to reach out to when cravings hit or you need guidance on how to handle a situation. My sponsor is so good at helping me put things in perspective.

I kept waiting for my current sponsor to offer but I guess that's not necessarily how it works. We had a nice, friendly rapport for months, but it took me 9 months to work up the courage to ask her to sponsor me! Don't be like me - ask someone who raises their hand to show they're available at your next meeting.

Have a great weekend and keep us posted.

Plus, great job not drinking last night.

Thank you so much Gleefan. I think I am ready for the sponsor. I just have to start going to meetings. I slept 10 hours last night and I woke up feeling awesome. Actually feel like going to see Star Wars again because I liked it so much but I will hold off, lol. I'm going to spend the day cleaning my house and then look into the meeting later this evening. My son and I are leaving next weekend to go see my family and I want to come back here to a clean house.

The AV is loud tonight. I'm not drinking. I went driving in my car and went to an abandoned parking lot where I could scream for a couple minutes. I'm so tired of thinking about alcohol.

Screaming did actually make me feel a little better. Although I did feel a little crazy doing it. I hold a lot in normally and I was just so tired of everything yesterday. I slept great and I'm feeling better this morning. Thank you all so much.

I'm hanging in there. Not drinking and getting ready for our 2,000 miles trip back home. I'll work until tomorrow then we head out on Saturday. I'm sleeping better every night and I'm working on being kinder to myself. That's not easy. Being a good and sober mom to my son is what I'm mainly focused on.

Wishing you a safe, sober trip.
You are already a great mother, and sobriety
will take you into the realm of amazing mother

You can do this, don't ever give up, and post if you have cravings right away

Thank you all so much. I finished my sons Christmas shopping, am washing clothes and planning for bed soon after they are done. Have to be up at 5am for work and we will be having a lot of people out tomorrow. Elvis will be at a coworker's house for the two weeks and I will miss him. I wanted to bring him but couldn't. I'm ready to see my family. My parents don't drink, never have so that won't be an issue having alcohol around. I'm so ready to be off that plane hugging my parents and have my baby boy be around our family who can't wait to see him and spoil him.
