Question Shoes on for long road

Hello. I wish I could share that my drinking was this many years in the rear-view but I cant. I feel like a hamster on a wheel- work-drink-work-drink-etc. I may seem to function ok at work but my wife is ready to strangle me. I am on this site because I hope it will help with my recovery. I have always liked being active with running and cycling but drinking has held me back. I am seeing a psychologist but I think I need to try the campral/naltrexone combo. I am such a rationalising justifying procrastinating broken record a-hole I don't believe myself anymore. Got to turn it around. Seven years ago I was sober for 13 months. I was a different man. I often wonder what things would be like had I stuck to my guns.........anyhow you will be hearing from me. Need to change.......

Welcome Jhope - you'll find support and understanding here.

Apart from the meds, do you have any idea on how you'll stay sober? what changes you'll need to make?

D

Dee74- changes will include running again and I have found yoga helpful before. And seeing my psychologist ongoing. Mostly I am trying to work up the courage to begin. Next challenge is to sustain it without complacency. Thanks for your response.
