Do you know how easy it is to get back into old habits? I do. And it's not fun.

So, I wanted to delete this post, because I'm drunk, and screwed up on the original post.

I may not make sense right now. But wanted to say....

I was sober for forty days or so. Then I thought I could drink. Yeah right.

Some how, the excitement of not drinking went away. I was no longer excited. I saw a neighbor having a beer, and thought, I can have one too.

A spiral, downhill battle since.

I don't have a new plan. I know you would ask.

Thank you for making that comment. That has made me think about my own return to drinking.

I enjoyed the 'buzz' of getting to the end of the day without a drink but towards the end of my 6 weeks sober the initial sense of achievement had waned.

You have made me realise that, for me, I need to find something to keep the 'thrill' there. Maybe I need to plan a treat for the end of every week I stay sober.

But that's about me - I just wanted to say I relate so much to what you are saying and really hope you will join me in making this the beginning of a new sober life. We've both today gone 'public' and stated we've made a mistake. With the help of people here we CAN beat this.

Oh girl, I've posted drunk I hope you're ok, if not PM me we can talk. Tonight, is the night that you posted and wanted help and are drunk, now how are we ( yes you have a family here it is we not just you) going to help you.

Why did you drink? Can you stop drinking? No worries I bet the world is spinning and confusing right now, but I promise you that sobriety will come soon and you will look back at this night, maybe with regrets, don't have regrets no biggie.

Yes, we should work on a plan, lets talk sobreity and get you sober, but glad you wrote tonight friend, be well and tomorrow we get sober together.

Hi.

I've been there too, where you loose that positivity of being sober & something triggers you to drink, i hope you read messages people send you when you get sober again, at least for me i know it would haveore meaning if you know wjat i mean, im barely 3 days sober from a binge, & im trying to stay positive somehow but drinking is in my thought process, hang in there (generic thing to say but true) After ten years I just realizing "hey you are not alone "

Yep... gotta get up and start anew. I am doing the same this morning. Try not to beat yourself up about it cuz it will only bring you down to the same place or lower.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragement. I'm here, awake and of course with a headache. I have things to do today, so I'm about to take some ibuprofen, vitamins and herbs. Day 1 again.

Welcome back Jillian!!

The key for me was to keep me on track when I would forget about the damage alcohol had caused and had convinced myself things would be different, that's the kind of plan you need, to break going round and round in that circle!!

You can do this!!

Alcoholism is the only disease that tells us we are ok - go ahead, you're fine - we'd love few drinks!!

Insanity

I know there's another bad drunk binge in me. I have to do what I need to daily or I will drink again, no doubt.

Thanks for the post, glad your here and glad for the reminder.
Keep coming back

Hey guys. So, I continued to drink since this post. I have decided that I need to stay committed to SR to help me stay sober. I just find it easier. So I will be back here daily, hourly, every minute if I have to.

Since my relapse, my husband has had one too with his DOC. And my poor son is in the middle of all this again. I'm a horrible mother. I don't know how many day ones I've had, but here I am again. It's a ****** place to be in. I don't know how to get the excitement back. I was sober for 30+ days so I know I can do it. But kinda don't want to. But I want a better life. So I can't have both.

Thanks dee. I took a walk with family, made dinner, had an actual conversation with my son, now I'm about to watch Friends reruns, lol.

I have my journal and plan to use it!

There's a lot that needs to be done around the house, so I'm going to do it! And when I get overwhelmed, watch Friends reruns bahaha.

Anyway, I'm working on it now. Thanks for pushing me. 😜
