I have noticed that I'm eating a lot of ice cream at night when I would normally chew which is kind of odd. I have used sunflower seeds (and cigarettes) in the past to wean myself off chew but I would end up doing it so often that all that salt would open up sores on my gums. With each passing day though, the cravings happen less often, pass quicker and are less strong.

You can do it pulltight. It's good to have a fellow dipper on board.
Thanks! Yea, I think the nicotine delivery is a bit higher than a cigarette and the duration is longer. I'm having a hell of a time at work but working through it.
Chewing is way more convenient than smoking, hands free, lasts long as you like and can do it most anywhere so it's easy to do it often and build up a nicotine tolerance that's super high.
I've read that one can contains as much nicotine as 3 packs of cigarettes.

Day 21

ok, you old-timers

when someone is smoking

i love inhaling the smoke

even fan it in at times

is this nuts?
I HATED second hand cigarette smoke while I was smoking....now, I find myself loving it and wafting it towards me at times. Go figure.

Off to bed. I have managed to survive day 2. The cravings are just crazy and i am very irritable. Sure this will pass and get better over time. Luckily things are crazy busy at work. This helps to keep my mind occupied.

Well done and good luck to everyone on this Journey to healthy life.

I just found this thread. I am on day 6 of no booze or no fags. For me it is never one or the other. I am chewing gum like crazy but am hoping I can finally be free of both and live a cleaner healthier life and save a whole load too!! For me both habits are very intertwined. Mayg

Freedom congrats on your 2 days smoke free! You are past the worst of the cravings!

its going to get sooo much easier soon! I remember the cravings being so bad all I could is go to sleep.....just to get away from them. But now I'm so happy to be nico free!

Pulltight, keep on trying. you will get this!

Congrats on your month Gilmer!

Welcome Mayg! Congrats on your 6 days no cigs and no alcohol!

Today was a very hard day for me. My car was repossessed. Ordinarily, it would have been a huge excuse to smoke a cigarette..... the first thing I would have reached for. Before I quit pills, those would have been the second thing. Today I did neither....and I got thru it. Today proves that I can get thru hardships without these crutches.

another 24 please.
