First Time Here

I was referred to this site by a newly found friend and this is my first post. I need to stay sober for the rest of my life, and I know this is the truth. There have been so many times I could have died or ended up in jail because of my drinking. I'm grateful to be alive and I'm looking to connect with other people going through struggles so we can achieve and maintain sobriety together. Thanks for reading.

Thanks to everybody for the responses. I'm very serious about staying sober and achieving long term sobriety. I know there's a lot of work for me to do and I need to just take it one day at time. I'm one of the types of people that wants to change everything all at once...quit smoking, eat healthy, exercise etc. I have this specific idea or expectation of the kind of person I should be and I'm going to try my best to get there. Thanks again for your support.

Hey friend. The rest of your life can seem kind of scary, how about just working on not drinking today. Glad you are here with us!

I'm exactly the same in both knowing i can't drink again and wanting to change everything/become the perfect healthy being all at once. I get ya!
definitely try to focus on the little steps and gradual changes, the all or nothing approach doesn't seem to work so well
glad you're here!
