30 days today
Hey all - apologies for not having posted in a few weeks. A lot going on at home here, kid 1 had his tonsils out 2 weeks ago so helping him through that took up a lot of my time.
Thankfully, what did not take up a lot of my time was drinking. Today marks Day 30 for me, which I never thought would ever be possible. There's still not a day that goes by that I don't think about it though, but I've learned to get over it quickly and somewhat easily. I don't think it's even cravings so much as realizing the old me would be bombed at this moment in time so what am I supposed to do with this time now? I go through crossword puzzles at an alarming rate recently.
I was hoping to see a lot more weight loss in a month's time, it's only been a few pounds, which I guess is something, just not as much as I was hoping for or expecting. I guess ice cream and other sugary junk is not such a good replacement after all haha. My clothes seem to fit slightly better though, at least.
I do feel well though, much more rested, much more productive at home and at work. I should know that the effects of 15 years of binge drinking almost every night can't be erased in a month. But a month from now will be even better, and two months even better than that. Patience and fortitude are the keys.

Awesome, congrats on the 30 day mark. I hear you on the weight loss, I haven't been very good to myself in the ice cream junk food department. I am rounding 60 days at Thanksgiving and promise myself to start eating batter after the Holiday. It is just so hard when they keep making moose tracks ice cream so good!!!

Well done. I know it's obvious but if as you say you've now got more spare time and also a desire to lose weight the best thing you can do is to take up exercise. You'll feel better for it although I know it's a bit hard when you've been out of the habit.
