Welcome to Newcomers
Welcome to Newcomers
We welcome people who are still struggling with drinking or using - this website exists for you to find help, support and recovery
It's important to remember though that the rules of conduct apply to all members, at all times.

There is no excuse for threatening, obnoxious or disruptive behaviour, or disrespect towards the rules, the forum staff, or the other members of this community.
We want SR to be a safe place.
Thanks to all of you who make it that way

Being a part of SR is a privilege.
The sanctuary of this place, the opportunity to be our flawed selves and to have that accepted and our recovery encouraged requires nothing of us except that we behave well to each other.
I count myself lucky.

Good to see you back JDM, but I don't want people to think this is a joke.
Like I say people who are still drinking or using are always welcome here. That is what SR is for
but...Anna Scott and I are increasingly having to spend vast amounts of time with people who are drunk/high and belligerent with it, but still want to post here.
It's not fair to us, and it's not fair to the other members here who really are trying to quit and who look to Newcomers forum as a safe place to be.

Team SR is a fantastic Team to be welcomed into and given support and encouragement from.
But the likes of Dee, Scott and Anna, you guys put up with soo much and the work you do is out of giving something back to the community, and in my opinion that should never be taken for granted.
Being drunk or high shouldn't give people a green light to be abusive, they are not a sounding board for someone not taking responsibility for their own Sobriety!!
Keep up the good work guys!! Team SR for the win!!
