However, it is much easier if we just keep doing what works. It is still hard to believe that we are coming up on 5 years. Just writing that makes me really think about how that is genuinely a pretty long time. I remember when going 5 hours was nearly impossible.

Hard to believe that 5 years ago today I was entering the last month of my addiction. I had no idea!
I still can't believe that we are coming up on 5 years. It was always sorta the amount of time that I considered no longer being a newcomer to sobriety.
Hope you are all doing well and some people check in as we get close to the anny.

Five years sober on the first!
My wife and I are doing great (we both quit drinking the same day). We frequently comment how much better our life together is without alcohol.
I wish everyone all the best!

Alright my Fellow November people. It has been a pleasure and an incredible support having you all here (well, whoever is left). I have just removed the random reminders from my phone to check in here. It seems as if most of us have moved on or gone out.
Thank you all so much for being a support in the early days. Its hard to believe that it has been this long. Wishing you all one day at a time and a nice slow recovery.
Until next time, Jeff

Hi Jeff - you'd be very welcome in the One Year and Over thread if you want to touch base with other people now and again

Finally found and checking in on the November 2012 thread - I was never really active on this thread but my sobriety date is November 24, 2012. I wanted to check in and just let folks know that I'm still sober and still here. Generally I hang out on the Newcombers thread as a great reminder why I choose sobriety.
My newest adventures include being engaged and selling my place; living with my fiance (incredibly big deal for me after living by myself for sooooo long!) - but we are in the process of selling his house and moving to the state of Georgia from Vermont. Super excited to live closer to one set of my grandchildren and equally excited for sun....Vermont does not have nearly enough sun and warmth for this aging body
Be well folks!
