I'm a recovering addict/alcoholic with cody issues. I plan on starting Al anon meetings soon but was wondering is there an Al Anon big book like in AA and NA. Thank You

From what I understand "How Al-Anon Works" would be considered our big book.

That was the first AL-Anon book I read and it is still my favourite one and the one I read time and time again.

Call the al-anon central office in Virginia Beach, they will send you a fat 3 ring binder with all the information you need to start a meeting. Formats, readings, how to order literature, how to advertise, how to "pass the basket" and what to do with the money, etc.

Welcome to Al-Anon Family Groups

Mike

Yes, Al-Anon's "basic book" is called How Al-Anon Works for Families and Friends of Alcoholics. A lot of Al-Anon members also use one of Al-Anon's three daily readers, One Day At A Time in Al-Anon, Courage to Change, or Hope for Today. Al-Anon has quite a few other books. Go to the Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters's Web site, Welcome to Al-Anon Family Groups.

Al-Anon's World Service Office can be very helpful in connecting you to other Al-Anon members who are experienced in how Al-Anon groups function, our literature, etc.

hope you enjoy the Al-Anon meeting - for me ~ they saved not only my sanity but my life!

How Al-Anon works for Families and Friends of Alcoholics is still my favorite book!! Chapter 11 ~ Detachment, Love & Forgiveness and Chapter 12 - Taking care of ourselves are my two favorite chapters!!

Such great healing and forgiveness for myself and all in my family!

PINK HUGS,
Rita
