I think this topic comes up here and there, but I would really like to see if we would all be able to share some songs and their lyrics that really have a different or true meaning to them now that they are sober.

This song means something to me now that I'm sober. Maybe because I interpret it in my own way and differently than what it was maybe written for. But it speaks to me because when I was drinking it was as if I was dead, but now that I'm sober I'm alive and life is so beautiful now. But that's my interpretation, I don't know how anybody else would interpret it, but here it is....

CoF1984, I love that song as well and I do believe it has some meaning to those of us who were somewhat dead to the world and are now alive and seeing how blind we were to the beauty of the world.

This is only slightly related but I have always liked this song. Don't know who wrote it. I learned it when I was a kid.

I guess the relation is that people sometimes drink because they have a fear and this is an alternative way to handle it.
