AA works for a lot of people. AA does not work for a lot of people.
This is not news.
Some groups are welcoming and safe.
Some groups are unwelcoming and cold.
All of these opinions and statistics mean far less than one's own personal experience....but we keep coming back to them.

Meetings are automatous and vary. My first AA meeting on a Saturday night as a positive experience but my second on Sunday not so much. The vibe was quite different.
As far as statistic are concerned they mean nothing. The only stat of importance is your own sobriety.
